Works especially well for making fast, 16th note percussive bits for drum and bass.
You can turn a boring, repetitive and robotic 16th note loop into something dynamic, layered and morphing by adding extreme flangers and phasers to it to give width and create movement in the loop.
On top of that, you can add BP/LP/HP filters moving back and forth with an LFO to create even more movement in the sound.
With a bit of tweaking you can create incredibly dynamic and tight percussive lines to embellish and add onto your beat to increase the liveliness and groove out of simple and lifeless loops.
