02 Dec Pro-tip: You don’t need hours and hours of time to get tunes done.
Back when I started producing it was important for me to get in those 3, 4, 5 hour blocks of solid producing down in one go but as time goes on you get more efficient at it.
If you have just 15 or 20 minutes in the morning or at night to produce, you can still get a lot done, just open the project and get into it. If you only have a short amount of time to work, focus on just getting something small and simple done in your tune.
This can be something like focusing on just adding a nice tambourine that sits nicely in the mix to your track, nailing a little bass edit, adding 16 bars to the arrangement, getting a basic synth idea down or even something as small as getting that snare layer to work. It doesn’t really matter what it is as long as you accomplish something small in the time you have.
Do this just 4 or 5 times over and you might already have most of the core parts of a tune down.
